The third annual Montana Data Use Culture conference will be held September 19 – 20, 2018 at Strand Union Building, Montana State University, in Bozeman, Montana. The Montana Data Use Culture Conference Committee within the Montana Office of Public Instruction invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the conference, taking this opportunity to share your knowledge about how data use can improve the educational outcomes of Montana students.

MISSION OF THE MONTANA DATA USE CULTURE CONFERENCE

To provide Montana educators, administrators, and researchers with a venue to learn how to access and communicate data in ways that will improve educational outcomes for Montana students.

 

CONFERENCE GOALS

  • Increase teacher and administrator use of data to enhance teaching, specifically the GEMS Data Warehouse
  • Create long-term, direct partnerships with university researchers
  • Enhance the OPI’s understanding of its own program effectiveness

Presentation proposals should indicate what the format of the presentation will be, specifically, if the proposal is for a poster, session, or hands-on workshop.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL

Presentation proposals should consist of a two paragraph abstract submitted at https://tofu.msu.montana.edu/cs/data_use_culture_2018. Click on the Call for Proposals link in the navigation.

Tip: to submit a proposal you may resize the text boxes from the lower right hand corner. Alternatively, you may submit a word document. After you finish registering and answering questions about your presentation , you will receive an email with an upload link. Click that to submit your abstract.

 

IF YOUR PROPOSAL IS SELECTED

Presenters will be notified of their session times and dates by August 13, 2018. Room assignments will be determined by the MDUC Planning Committee. Presenters must be committed to present on the date and time assigned. Reasonable requests/accommodations will be considered. Presenters will register for the conference at the time the abstract is submitted and will not be charged the conference attendance fee.
