Training and Resources

Montana Cook Fresh Training Support Program

Montana Team Nutrition and Montana No Kid Hungry are proud to announce the Montana Cook Fresh Training Support Program

This program supports in-school (onsite) training for foodservice staff to increase their cooking skills in preparing fresh, from scratch meals and recipes.

Funds can support the trainer’s costs and/or substitute or labor costs for staff.

Training will be done by members of the Montana School Food Service Peer Educator Network, Montana Chefs to Schools Network or contracted trainers.

Examples of training topics may include (but aren’t limited to) knife skills/safety, baking with whole grains, roasting vegetables, batch cooking, seasoning with herbs and spices, expanding variety of vegetables, and menu or recipe development for breakfast and lunch meals.

Team Nutrition will work with the Food Service Director/Manager to design a training plan that meet the needs/goal of your program per the current staffing and equipment available.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Katie Bark at kbark@mt.gov.
