Math Matters for 2016-2017 is expanding to new locations to bring more Montana teachers support on using the 8 Mathematical Practices and rich tasks in the classroom. Conveniently scheduled on Saturdays, participants will also receive a $150 stipend.

Big Idea #2: MT Arts Education Leadership Summit Asks You to 'Imagine the Possibilities'

The Montana Arts Council and the Montana Office of Public Instruction are shining a spotlight on the new Montana Arts Standards by hosting a Montana Arts Education Leadership Summit on September 23-24 in Helena. Highlights of the two days include a celebration of American Indian Heritage Day and performances by Montana artists Philip Aaberg and Jack Gladstone. See the event flyer here.

Big Idea #3: STEM in the Rockies Accepting Applications


Apply
 to join a unique opportunity at the Montana Learning Center and learn about engaging your middle and high school students with hands-on curriculum in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Teachers who participate in STEM in the Rockies will receive 19 renewal units and an array of aeronautics-themed activities. As a bonus, participants will also receive one-hour of flight instruction in a Cessna aircraft by a FAA Certified Flight Instructor.  

Room and board are provided free of charge for participants at the Montana Learning Center. Apply by September 1 by filling out this quick application.
