Big Idea #1 - Montana Teach

Montana Teach is a new online resource of curriculum guides, teaching tools, and digital resources developed for Montana educators. It includes Montana-made digital resources and IEFA resources. The website is organized by grade level, subject matter, and content type. It's meant to be a one-stop-shop for curriculum content created by the Office of Public Instruction, and for relevant partner content. Big Idea #2 - Online Professional Learning Communities

The Teacher Learning Hub has several online PLCs that are returning after the holiday hiatus. Visit the Teacher Learning Hub website for join any of the PLCs:

  • History: January 9th at 4 pm. This month's topic is Beyond the Textbook: Activities and Lessons that bring Montana History Alive.

  • Math: January 11th

  • Science: January 17th at 4 pm.  This month's topic is Inquiry.

  • Teacher-Librarian: January 16th at 4 pm. This month's topic is Fake News, Information, Literacy, and a Golden Opportunity. 

  • Writing: January 11th at 3:45 pm.
     

Big Idea #3 - Springtime in the Rockies at the Montana Learning Center

The Montana Learning Center is hosting its Springtime in the Rockies conference April 21 and 22, 2017. The conference is open to K-5 teachers and the conference focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.  Space is limited and the deadline to register is March 1, 2017.
