In the recent release update for the AIM system, there are a few changes that will impact the special education module.
- Districts are now able to use several different browsers without worry of corrupting documents. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari are the current browsers supported. Users should make sure that they are using the most current browser available. Browser settings should also be set to the AIM Recommended Browser Settings. This document can be found by going to the OPI website at www.opi.mt.gov, selecting Programs, selecting Special Education, Forms/Guides, selecting the Guides tab and choosing the one titled AIM Recommended Browser Settings Updated December 2016. You can also click on the link to get to that location. http://opi.mt.gov/pdf/SpecED/Guides/AIMRecommendBrowserSettings.pdf
- Simple Forms are now created within Infinite Campus in what is called Forms Data Format (FDF) style. Viewing FDFs will no longer require users to download the file and view it in Adobe. This eliminates the concerns with downloading sensitive documents onto local computers and will significantly reduce the problems on inconsistencies among browsers and browser versions. However, with this change is also a change on how users will need to save their Simple Forms. Users are now required to save their forms before they can print them. Once saved, the form is converted into a PDF document and you can highlight it to print it. Once your Simple Form has been saved, you will now need to lock the form in order for it to sync up to the State. If forms are not locked, and the student moves to a different district, the form information will not be electronically transferred to the new district.
