Big Idea #1 - Financial Poster Contest
The Montana Financial Education Coalition is having its 2017 poster contest. This year's theme is Save, Spend, Donate, Vacation. Children in kindergarten to fifth grade are encouraged to submit a poster. Poster templates and rules are available on the coalition's website. The deadline to submit posters is Friday, October 27, 2017. The winning submissions will be featured in MFEC's 2018 calendar.
Big Idea #2 - MPRES Opportunity: Become a 3-D Science Teacher!
The Montana Partnership with Regions for Excellence in STEM (MPRES) is setting up workshops for its 2018 year. The courses will start in January 2018 and will not interfere with instructional time. 34 OPI renewal units or 3 continuing education credits from MSU - Billings are available. Big Idea #3 - 10 Tips for Fostering Kids' Creativity
Fostering a child's creativity can be a challenge. Some children see a blank piece of paper as a starting point for creativity while others have no idea even where to begin. One professor has come up with five components to foster creativity in children, called the Creative Learning Spiral.
