Montana Suicide Prevention and Response Negotiated Rulemaking Committee
The Office of Public Instruction (OPI) is extending the search for nominations/applications for participants to amend ARM 10.55.701 requiring a policy on suicide prevention programs in schools and to consult on the preparation of an economic impact statement. The nomination/ application will close on Monday, November 13, 2017.

The OPI seeks individuals likely to be significantly affected by the proposed rule amendment, including individuals from the following groups:
- K-12 teachers and counselors
- K-12 school administrators
- Parents of school aged children
- school business officials
- school district trustees
Members of the committee will be selected based on the following criteria:
- cultural diversity
- geographic distribution
- district and school size
- grade level(s), as applicable
- suicide prevention experience
Selected applicants of the negotiated rulemaking committee will be notified by email on November 15, 2017. The committee will convene the initial meeting on November 20, 2017. Teleconference and email correspondence will be used as much as possible for all committee meetings.
Applications for membership on the committee are due to Linda Vrooman Peterson by completing the online survey, or sending in the survey information by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by postal mail, PO Box 202501, Helena, Montana 59620, postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017.
