The 2018 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship Program is now open!

Two students from Montana will be selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship each and a one-week, all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., for Washington Week, March 3-10, 2018. Visit the OPI Scholarship webpage at http://www.opi.mt.gov/Programs/SchoolPrograms/Index.html?gpm=1_11#gpm1_10 for more information regarding the U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship Program. The link to the application is available for printing or downloading. The application will be removed from the OPI website on Friday, September 29, 2017.

The deadline for receipt of applications to the OPI is Monday, October 2, 2017. All materials must be electronically date stamped (email) or postmarked no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017.

If a student from your school is selected to proceed as a semifinalist to a telephone interview, I will contact the student between October 12 and 20 to arrange a date and time for the interview. I anticipate the phone interviews will be conducted between October 23 and November 15. The judges will select two delegates to receive the scholarship and attend Washington, D.C., Week. Two alternates will be selected as well. In the event that one of the delegates forfeits the scholarship, an alternate will be awarded the scholarship and expected to attend Washington Week. I will notify the successful delegates and alternates in late December 2017.
