Big Idea #1 - 2019 Montana Teacher of the Year

OPI is now accepting nominations and applications for the 2019 Montana Teacher of the Year award. Ten teachers from across the state will be chosen before the three semi-finalists are chosen. The Teacher of the Year will be announced during a celebration ceremony held at the Capitol building in October 2019. Visit OPI’s website for the nomination and application forms.

Big Idea #2 - CSI Needs your Feedback

The Content Standards and Instruction (CSI) Division is looking for your feedback to inform the round of standards review that is underway. The following content areas are on deck:

Please visit any or all of the above linked page for the current state and national standards in the four areas. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. More information about the standards revision process can be found on the K-12 Content Standards and Revision page of the OPI website.

Big Idea #3 - Now for something fun…

National Geographic’s Family Field Guide has several fun ways to beat those winter boredom blues. One of the fun ways is a recipe to create your own soup. Maybe you can turn the soup recipe into a fun science experiment to find out why carrots take longer to cook than peas.
