Big Idea #1 - Crow Treaties Symposium

Little Big Horn College would like to issue a special invitation to Montana teachers to a two-day historical symposium on the 150 year anniversary of the Crow Treaties of 1868. The free symposium will cover the Fort Laramie, WY treaty with the Mountain Crow, and the Fort Hawley, MT treaty with the River Crow. Dr. Alden Big Man and Dr. Frederick Hoxie are two of the speakers at the symposium. Visit the symposium's website to register to attend and other information.

Big Idea #2 - STEAM in the Rockies

The STEAM workshop in the Rockies is returning to the Montana Learning Center Friday, October 5, 2018, and Saturday, October 6, 2018. Space is limited to 18 participants, and teachers received 18 OPI renewal units. The deadline to apply to attend is Monday, September 10, 2018. Workshop participants will also receive one hour of flight instruction from an FAA certified flight instructor. Visit the Montana Learning Center's website to apply and other information about the workshop.

Big Idea #3 - A fun way to explore state history

The Montana Historical Society has hands-on history footlockers that allow students to explore state history in a more meaningful way. Some footlockers explore how the fur trade and mining industries built Montana in the 1800's. Visit the Historical Society's website for a list of the footlockers and instructions on how to reserve for your students.
