Big Idea #1 - A New Way to look at Makerspaces

Havre Public Schools is using makerspaces not just as an in-class activity. The school district recently set up makerspaces for students to use before the school day starts. Read the article about this new approach to makerspaces has gotten students and teachers excited about using the technology in the classroom.

Big Idea #2 - Science Classroom Challenges

Inspired Classroom and Florence's MPG Ranch have joined efforts to create two new science classroom challenges for students in grades 3 to 12. The first challenge focuses on the mountain lions that live in the vicinity of the ranch. Visit Inspired Classroom's website for more information about this challenge. Big Idea #3 - Cybersecurity Poster Contest

The Montana Information Security Advisory Council (MT-ISAC), along with the Governor's Office and the State Information Services Division (SITSD), are hosting a cybersecurity poster contest open to all Montana students kindergarten to grade 12. The theme of the contest is Kids Safe Online. The MT-ISAC will select 13 winners, one from each grade, to be featured in a 2019 calendar. The winners will also be entered into a national poster contest sponsored by the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC). The deadline to register is November 1, 2018.
